I personnally suggest my friends to donate to Orangutan Outreach

Richard who runs Orangutan Outreach in New York collects funds to distribute to the most well run, trustworthy and effective orangutan projects in Indonesia. Richard will make sure your money goes to the orangutans.

Next steps with Green

    Strategy

My next step will be to approach the key players responsible for the present destruction of orangutan habitat. I’d like to get them to watch GREEN.  The film could perhaps trigger an emotion in the hearts of those high ranking people, making them want to change.

I’ll begin by coming up with a list of the top 30 most destructive companies for the Indonesian rainforest and the 20 biggest banks behind these companies. Also a list of the 10 top companies investing in future destruction, particularly those investing in palm oil for bio-diesel. I will then advertise these companies and banks on the website and allow all of you around the world to send them messages inviting them to watch GREEN and to take action to stop all forest clearing in Indonesia.

    film_1
I will also send these people a DVD with a polite letter inviting them to watch the film.

If you know of some companies or banks which should absolutely be on the list, please let me know.

    Next screening on TV

The SVT AB Swedish television channel will probably be the first to broadcast “Green” on TV. I’m hoping that SVT will broadcast the film during the Copenhagen Summit in December 2009. If they do, this will be a world premier for GREEN on television at a perfect moment.

      svt
This is a really cool move for a national TV channel, I hope the other countries will take example on the Suedes.

      Next screening in next festivals

        • “Green” will be showing at the Amazonas Film Festival in Manaus Brazil  (Nov. 6 to 12, 2009) I’ll be going there, and so will the famous French actrice Carole Bouquet. With a little luck she’ll be moved by the plight of the orangutans and will want to help do something about it. Maybe she would agree to making the press come to a screening in Paris. I’ll let you know if I manage to convince her.

        About me, about Green

        • French

My name is Patrick, I am an ordinary citizen dedicated to preventing the destruction of the remaining tropical rainforest on Earth. I do so by making heart felt films on the forest and the industries destroying it.

After “Tears of Wood”, “Losing Tomorrow” and “The Cathedral Forest”, my latest film is “Green”.

        Green

“Green” is about saving the rainforest of Indonesia. The film is meant to reach out to the hearts of people hoping to make us all feel that we don’t want to take part in the destruction anymore.

“Green” is 48 min long, it is available for free download for all private and public screenings. The film is in international version accessible to all nationalities, produced independently and free of all commercial or political attachment. Please don’t hesitate to screen the film wherever you feel appropriate.

To purchase a DVD: please contact Green Planet for DVDs in NTSC or make a donation of 10 or 15 Euros using the pay-pal donate button on the front page of this site. Don’t forget to mention your address and I’ll send you a DVD by the post in the shortest delay. If you wish to buy large quantities please write me at: patrick@greenthefilm.com

To save the Indonesian rainforest we must want to change our consumer habits so as to not be part of the destruction. If we are enough to do so, we can make a significant impact on the markets involved and make them change too. And it’s quite easy to do, it’s essentially about avoiding palm oil, tropicals hardwoods and paper from tropical countries.

Together we can make a difference.

Of all the awards GREEN has received the  “BEST OF FESTIVAL GRAND TETON AWARD” and  “BEST CONSERVATION PROGRAMME”  at the Jackson Hole Wildlife Film Festival 2009 are really the best. It’s thanks to these 2 awards that the film will perhaps now be able to touch many people around the world.
